Wok° 15 Kitchen At ONE° 15 Marina: Cantonese Chinese Cuisine At Sentosa
Brand new Cantonese Chinese cuisine at ONE° 15 Marina Club launched in April 2016 and helmed by executive chef Chum Kar Ho. His creation has an extensive line-up of appetisers, soups, seafood, barbecue dishes and dim sum suited for all ages and occasions! Wok° 15 offers a picturesque view of the waterfront and has four private dining rooms for parties of up to 10 people.
As a starter, we had the Japanese Greenhouse tomato drenched in a wasabi-infused sesame sauce ($8). The thing that caught my mind was “Wasabi”?! For the record, I am and will never be a fan of wasabi since it requires an acquired taste.
To my pleasant surprise, this cold dish was refreshing and light! The hint of wasabi was perky and combination with the sesame sauce was delightful.
Next up was the double boiled chicken soup with Himematsutake Mushroom. Put aside all these jargon, this soup was brilliantly boiled all under 3 hours according to Chef Chum. Flavour was intense yet light at the same time.
Garoupa served in a Stone Pot was a first for me. The precision in keeping the right temperature was the main intent of using the stone pot. It was still sizzling when served.
Up next was the highlight of the lunch menu, Chilli Crab! This wok consisted of 2 (1.2kg each) glorious Sri Lanka Crabs immersed in the mouth-watering chilli gravy! It wasn’t too sweet nor too tangy, definitely one of the best I’ve ever tried.
Crabs are available at $80/kg and with popular flavours like Black Pepper and Salted Egg! Sounds expensive? Well, it’s quality over quantity or vice versa, you decide!
Tapering off the menu are lighter dish such as the braised vermicelli and coconut dessert.
We could even smell the pandan and coconut aroma before the arrival of the dessert. The flesh peeled off the shell just like slicing a butter, nicely done.
What a treat to Wok° 15 Kitchen for lunch on a weekday! Truly blessed and thankful for it!
