143) The Provision Shop
Opened nearly a year ago, The Provision Shop is one of the many cafes in this charming estate of Everton Park. Located at a corner of Block 3, this cottage looking cafe has a mix of old charm and with clean modern lines that feels cozy and homely.
It’s rare to find me ordering pasta outside as I feel that it doesn’t justify the cost price. Same goes to other food stuff, but I guess the fact that I can prepare it at home gives me more reason not to have it else where. Having said that, I did order Traditional Carbonara ($14) as I was intrigued by the word “traditional”.
Unlike the typical white cream base, Traditional Carbonara was served Al dente with creamy yolk base, chunks of bacon to give that additional crunch and savoury flavour. Simple combination yet satisfying.
My friend had the “All-Star” brunch: Egg Benedict with Smoked Salmon ($12). Till now, I’m still curious on why “Benedict”, was it him who created it?
One of the better Egg Benedict around, but not the best combination I had. If you are an Egg Benny fan, you may like to try it at Second Storey Cafe.
Coffee was alright. Roast tasted very Italian which to me is strong in body with choco notes, but not doesn’t excite the palates.
