132) The Hideout: Heartland Cafe
“The more the merrier” that’s what they said.
Indeed, I am delighted by the fact that there are more cafes sprouting out island wide and especially in neighborhoods such as Old Airport Road. The Hideout Cafe is about 3 months old in this heartland together with other cafes such as the cake specialist: Maple Market which is one block away.
With much competition within a 500m radius, The Hideout Cafe is ready to pit against the rest by specializing in their home reciped Gelato, Waffles, Cakes and Western food as mains. They also offer a cake set which comprises a cuppa and any choice of cake at only $7.50.
Meanwhile I was there, I noticed that their main crowd were students from the school nearby. This is a rare sight for the other cafes which I mentioned above. Perhaps the waffles and ice cream was their main attraction?
Soft and fluffy, definitely one of the better places for waffles. Also, every mouth comes with traces of thick caramel sauce drizzled on the waffle!
Having said that, the ambiance is rather cozy and comfortable, unpretentious and definitely a decent cafe to chill at.
Parking lots are also available and in abundance. If you are taking the public transport, Dakota and Mountbatten MRT is also walking distance from The Hideout Cafe!
