The 1925 Microbrewery & Restaurant: Beers On Tap At Jalan Besar
Situated along Jalan Besar Road is The 1925 Microbrewery & Restaurant which is own by a local family, headed by a pair of uncle and nephew. This place offers home-brewed tap fresh beer made from extracts flown in from the Czech Republic & Australia. In addition to the menu are curated selections of wine, coffee from Graffeo, Western with local touches and seafood based dishes.
First thing that caught my attention were the gigantic cylindrical tanks (each holds 600 litres) behind the bar counter of the industrial space.
While the first level seats 40 to 50 pax, there is a wine and whisky lounge upstairs that holds 30 for those who want a more cozy experience.
Tasty contemporary food selection such as chicken skins ($12), beer batter shrimp ($22), Harimau Prawns ($20.90) and Beef Paddle ($28) are available.
We had set lunch (available Weekdays: 11am-3pm) instead at an affordable price. I had the BBQ Pork Belly Set ($10.90) and Patricia had the BBQ Fish Set ($10.90).
With an additional $2 for a cup of long black each.
What stood out and created that ‘magic’ was the sweet and spicy sauce glazed over the pork. It tasted like kecap manis infused with chilli, which was very appetizing!
Apart from beer, wine and food, The 1925 Microbrewery & Restaurant also lease out their space for events, in-house catering and even additional event support services. Checkout their website for more information.
