Sunday Folks: Waffles & Soft Serve Cafe
Sunday Folks at Chip Bee Gardens is known for their specialty desserts – Waffles and Soft Serve. With a closer look, you may find some resemblance or familiarity right? That’s right, they are founded by the brains behind Creamier (in Toa Payoh) about 1.5 years ago. Strategically situated near schools, residential, MRT and Holland Village, it’s no surprise to have a booming business.
The main difference between Creamier and Sunday Folks is the ice cream. In Creamier, waffles are served with ice cream, however, soft serve at Sunday Folks. Waffles serves are exactly the same with maple syrup and chocolate sauces drizzled at the edges. Talk about Instagram worthy food!
There are only six soft serve flavours instead of the regular rack of 18 tubs for selections: Dark Chocolate, Earl Grey Lavender, Roasted Pistachio, Sea Salt Gula Melaka and Summer Strawberries.
The sweet treats at Sunday Folks do not just look good – they taste good too. Waffles will only be baked after your order is taken for freshness! Having said that, a minimum waiting time of 15-30 minutes is required (I waited for 35mins). Good things are worth the wait I guess?
Soft serve on a waffle slice or two slices at S$9.90 and S$12.90 respectively. Besides soft serve on waffles, you get to have this tasty treat in a cup or handmade cone at S$7.90.
Tea Time set is available too at $10. Each set comes with a choice of beverage and slice of cake. I had the latte (beans are from Liberty Coffee) and Banana Walnut Cake.
In a nutshell, Sunday Folks guarantees at a slightly higher price than the regular waffle ice cream spots. Check out this post to find out my favourite spots
