114) Roosevelt
25/7/14
More of a American Diner & Bar, Roosevelt is located at a corner of Tanjong Pagar, specifically right outside one of Outram Park Mrt exits. Their tall glass windows and entrance reminded me of Common Man Roaster. The interior was dark, edgy and with a touch of grunge, while visibility is sustained by the chandeliers and spot lights.
We were here for coffee and dessert after dinner at Craig Road.
Coffee ($4.8) tasted pretty decent as it was well-bodied, was fragrant and flavourful. Overall, it was a gentle and soothing cuppa for the night. Personally, I ordered their house milkshake, Roosevelt’s Salted Caramel ($8) which was smooth, creamy and not overly sweet! We also had a Chocolate Banana waffle ($12) and the Roosevelt’s Apple Berries Crumble ($10). Between the two, I LOVE the latter. Apart from the apple and berries, there was this unique flavour which I couldn’t describe but was simply addictive! Perhaps it was caramel? Beats me.
Oh yes, before I end off, we also had Truffle Fries which can never go wrong.
We spent the night away catching up and reminiscing the good old times in secondary school before getting ‘chased’ away at around 1130pm.
