157) REFUEL: Brunch & Eatery Cafe At Bedok Reservoir
It’s such a delight to learn that a proper cafe has finally invade the heartland estates in Bedok Reservoir. Launched in October 2014 is REFUEL Cafe a petrol kiosk concept cafe providing brunch and mains, together with coffee and craft beers. Besides these attractive offerings will be the Bedok Reservoir that’s just a stone throw away from REFUEL Cafe.
Came here with my NS buddy, Aloysius, after a NSmen cohesion session nearby. Being a cafe hopper himself, it was his great suggestion to check out this cafe.
I ordered the REFUEL Pancakes ($9.9) and a Latte ($4.5) while he had simply an Ice Mocha Latte ($5.9).
The Ice Mocha Latte was surprisingly acceptable by our standards as the coffee was evident despite of the chocolate syrup. Additionally, the chocolate mix didn’t taste like those cheap milk cocoa.
My latte wasn’t too bad as well. They used a blend of Brazilian and Ethiopian beans for their cuppa which is from a local roaster. It had a medium body and an earthy finish.
This is one of my rare order during cafe visits – pancakes. Thankfully it wasn’t disappointing. Rather it was delightful as the buttery pancakes were fluffy and light.
However, the sides such as the scrambled eggs and bacon didn’t quite match up. Not a perfect breakfast set, but definitely did REFUEL my body!
If you are really here for the kill, you can try the Full Tank ($13.9), which is the full works here. This hearty breakfast came with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, sautéed mushrooms, roasted potatoes and a salad by the side.
Alternatively, a rare option will be the BBQ ribs ($14.9) that’s served with potato and salad.
Here are some additional shots from the cafe.
