126) One Fifteenth Coffee

10/8/14 [6 of 6 Cafe]

Our final cafe after 3 days in Coffee Paradise!

The name ‘One Fifteenth’ is derived from the ratio of coffee to water, ‘1:15’. This simple method is well-known to yield an ideal cup of coffee! However, in order to yield a ‘perfect’ cup of coffee, one needs to  practice and refine this ritual continuously. Apart from that, sourcing for quality beans and being able to showcase the characteristics of each batch is another key aspect to the art of coffee extraction! I guess that’s what it takes to be set apart from the other ordinary cafes. It was a Sunday afternoon and we were here for lunch after church! Yup, attending church was part of the plan despite on a holiday! This was another cafe that is in a bungalow sized unit (Check out Anomali Coffee). I believe that such cafe concept will only remain as a fantasy for most cafe owners in Singapore. However, if there is already such cafe(s) available here, or even in the near future, please comment below or email me! =)

Over here, I ordered Bananaw (SGD 5), which was caramelized banana with pancakes, vanilla ice cream and coffee cream along side a latte (SGD 4) with coffee blend of 40% Sunda Clwidey, 30% Dolok Sanggul and 30% Sunda Arumanis. It was indeed a fulfilling and hearty lunch! Food was tasty and coffee was good as its flavour was uncommon in Singapore!

We also had some savories and desserts. Churros! Can you believe that after about 130 cafes visits, it was my first time tasting Churros?!?

At the same time, while I was crazily snapping photos, the woman who sat next to us offered a pot of cactus which was still exuding life in exchange for the other pot of plant that was barely surviving! It was an interesting gesture as such details were being attended to. I believe she was the boss as she was in her smart casual outfit rather than in a staff outfit. So in appreciation of her gesture, here is the picture of the cactus!

So if you are in area of Jakarta in the future, this is definitely a must-visit cafe!
