131) My Awesome Cafe
With a mission to serve awesomeness, My Awesome Cafe has definitely paid lots of attention in the details of every aspects of their cafe. From the lighting, furniture, interior design to all the trinkets, you are able to see their intended purpose of breathing new life into the historic Chung Hwa Free Clinic!
While the original facade is retained for heritage and iconic purposes, My Awesome Cafe occupies the ground level which was originally the consultation hall while an interior designing firm occupies the two upper levels.
Being in a CBD area, My Awesome Cafe is one dedicated cafe that caters to the needs of people around this area. Operating hours starts as early as 745am for the early crowd while ending as late as 12am to wind down after a hard day at work.
Over here, they have the ‘All Day Breakfast’ menu, baked bread and treats ($3-$8), an array of sandwiches ($11-$12), quiche ($6-$12) and salads ($8-$17) for their food section. At the same time, Stella Artois ($11), Hoegaarden ($13), Leffe ($11) and bottled wine ($30) during their happy hours of 5-9pm, coffee and juices for their beverages.
I was here during 4-530pm, so it was more of a tea break and meet up with friends. I had their latte ($4.5) which I didn’t fancy at all as it tasted burnt and was flat. Accompanying it was Smoked Salmon Croissant ($8) which I enjoyed thoroughly as the smoked salmon wasn’t too salty and croissant was crisp!
I am also fascinated by the bulbs too! Instead of the typical industrial bulbs lighted by wires, it was filled with tiny LEDs instead. Bulbs within a bulb!
Check out this Chinese designed dispenser that dispense FREE herbal tea! I’m kidding, it’s just cold water!
Overall, My Awesome Cafe do serve awesomeness as intended! Good vibes, great place to chill, WiFi provided and suited for any time of the day.
