Khum Mee Thai Noodle Bar
Located at Bedok Point, Khum Mee Thai Noodle Bar is a relatively new Thai food eatery that serves authentic Thai street food with high quality ingredients. Their founder and managing director Khun Aum (Thawanrat Kaewthammkhun) believes in using only the best and freshest ingredients in order to satisfy customers taste buds. According to Khun Aum, most, or rather, all of ingredients are sourced from her hometown, Thailand.
Since this is a Thai Noodle Bar, it is no surprise that noodle is their signature dish. Khum Aum explained that her choice of noodle is specially selected with the highest concentration of egg so as to give customers the authentic taste of Thai Street noodle. One of their signature noodle dishes is the Ba Mee Kiao, Moo Dang, Pu & Kai Tom ($8.80). It essentially Wan Ton noodle with egg and some crab meat. I had mine with soup though.
I’ve got to say that the noodles were indeed delicious and texture was springy too! The crab meat was sweet which complimented well with the noodles together with all the other ingredients. Personally, I find it a little pricey. However, with no GST and service charges, I guess I could close one eye about it.
Apart from their noodles, you may like to try their Braised Pork Leg ($7.80) in Thai-Chinese Style. Apparently, this is Khum Aum’s grandma’s recipe which requires 2 hours of marination and 4-6 hours of slow cooking before it can be served.
Desserts and local beverages such as Thai Iced Tea (between $2-3) are served at Khum Mee Thai Noodle Bar as well. So if you are looking for a eatery that sells authentic Thai street food, you can give this place a try!
