Established since 1947, Kazokutei is one of Osaka’s most well known brands of udon restaurant.
I was at the outlet located at Bugis Junction during lunch time. Thankfully, I was slightly ahead of time and managed to beat the lunch crowd.
I am not really a Udon fan, nevertheless the food was tasty enough, so I am not complaining. Apparently, you are able to have a taste of Udon from both the Western and Eastern parts of Japan which are served in 2 different types of soup bases. Kokudashi Udon is from the East while Shira Dashi Udon is from Western Japan.
What’s the difference? The Eastern style is served in a stronger tasting broth while the Western is more towards the sweeter type.
