Kampong Chai Chee Restaurant: Halal Oriental Tze Char At Changi Road
Established in 1988 and formerly at Tampines Telepark, Kampong Chai Chee Restaurant (Restoran Makanan Kampong Chai Chee) is now at 303 Changi Road about 15 minutes walk from Eunos Mrt station.
On top of that, Western cuisines are available too.
Came here with my team mates, another good dinner recommendation by Amir!
We ordered Stir Fried Beef with Onions ($20), Lemon Chicken ($15), Tahu Telor ($8), and Chap Chye ($13) – Mixed Vegetable.
(All of our dishes very medium to large, thus suggest the pricing)
Check out this gigantic slab of crispy lemon chicken. Probably the largest I’ve encountered at such a price.
Fibre is also essential and part of a balance diet, at least we try to.
Lastly, the highlight for the night and my mates favourite, Tahu Telor. It is basically cubed Tahu (Beancurd) mixed with batter, coated with egg white and fried till gold brown. Complementing it will be Kecap Manis (Sweet sauce) with tinge of spiciness, usually from chilli padi to give that extra kick.
What’s unique about this version was the usage of egg tahu (tofu) which was much softer, silky and probably tastier too. Tahu Telor is one of my favourite, however, I found their version a little too sweet for my palate.
Overall, our tummies were filled, met our satisfaction and macro needs.
Just visited them recently again with my teammates. Here are the dishes.
Sweet and Sour Sliced Fish.
