32) Joe and Dough
Established their first outlet since 2009, Joe and Dough has braved through the storms and emerged victorious! Within a short span of 5 years and stiff competition out there, this homegrown cafe has already established 6 outlets island wide! Truly inspiration and impressive!
The brain child behind Joe and Dough is Damien Koh and Dawn Wee. They believe that the ‘secret’ to a successful F&B business, apart from marketing etc, is truly about serving genuine food and beverages made with the finest and freshest ingredients possible. Wise words from the bosses!
“Joe” = Coffee and “Dough”=sandwiches, as such, Joe and Dough’s main attractions are their coffee and sandwiches! They have a centralized bakery that churns out fresh bread with no preservatives daily and delivered to their own cafes as well as a few other cafes! At the same time, Damien and Dawn practices giving back to society. One of their many contributions will be to deliver any unsold bread to charity daily!
The coffee which they serve has a mixture of Brazilian, Ethiopia, Sumatra and Columbia beans, as such there will be chocolate, nutty and a little earthy flavours. At least, that’s how I perceived it to be based on my latte ($4.8).
Cakes are available too. I had a carrot cake ($9 for a cake + coffee) which tasty fine for my palate. However, my friend had other thoughts as she felt that it was a little dry.
Nevertheless, both of us enjoyed our time spent there as the soft earth colour and rustic theme was cozy and comfortable so much so that it made studying a little ‘challenging’ (I kept dozing off)!
So pop by here if you are around the corner!
Another fine coffee place to go to! What’s even better is that there are 3 cafes (Commune and Patisserie G) all in Millenia Walk!
