“Ice Cream, You Scream” = iScream! Great wordplay by the people of iScream Cafe!
I am sure this is an awesome news for Easties like me as this cafe is nestled at Block 89 of Bedok North which is a stone throw away from the popular Block 85 Bedok North Market & Food Centre! iScream is all about Ice Cream based desserts. They have a wide range of exclusive frozen confections, piping hot crispy waffles and artisanal beverages that will suit every mood and occasion!
This venue is also fantastic for the young and old. It was priceless to witness the genuine joy and smiles of those kids when they entered this wonderland!
What sets this cafe apart from the rest would be their charging scheme for ala-carte Ice Cream. What do I mean? Well, you simply pay for the portion that you decide to indulge in. Pricing is at 3.5cents per gram of ice-cream with a min spend of $3.50 for 100g and addition $1 for liquor infused Ice Cream. On the other hand, there’s also two ‘Take Out Pack’ options, $10.50 for 300g with one free topping and $17.50 for 500g with two free toppings. In addition, they have a rack full of different condiments to choose from!
During my trip here, I went for the Screaming Crispy Waffle with Glazed Banana topped with a single scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream ($9.9). Verdict: Waffle was ‘not-so-crispy’, maybe it was moistened by the Ice Cream? At the same time, the Ice Cream was not too bad, however it wasn’t as creamy and ‘chewy’ as I would like it to be.
Before signing off this post, you may like to try out their Soogle ($11.90) which is macarons with choice of 4 ice cream flavours and the Social Media Plate ($15.90) which is a 4 scoops alcoholic delight! Last but not least, their popular Korean Bingsu!
