Founder Bak Kut Teh
Helm as (probably) the most popular brand amongst the Bak Kut Teh fraternity in Singapore, Founder Bak Kut Teh is at along Balestier Road which is just beneath New Orchid Hotel. This is another local cuisine which I love to eat, especially on a cool/chilly night!
What I love about Founder Bak Kut Teh is that tinge of peppery blast and natural porky sweetness which wards off the chills and warms your body. At the same time, the ribs are cooked till tender yet springy at the same time. There are three choices to choose from: Prime Ribs, Spare Ribs and ends of the backbone (forgot its actual name).
On top of that, sliced chilli and black sauce are necessities when it comes to eating Bak Kut Teh! It’s just like wearing a pair of socks rather than only one side ( bad illustration, but get what I mean >.< ).
On top of that, we ordered Braised Pig Trotter which is also one of my favourite pork dishes. As you can see, the meat is braised till perfection! Accompanying the tender and flavorful meat were the generous portion of fats and gelatin!
Lastly, their interior is filled with photos taken with celebrities (local and abroad) as wallpaper! Hopefully Lepak With Yaops will be on their wall one day!
