D’Authentic Nasi Lemak

Driven by passion and strictly adhering to his family traditional recipe is the secret to make a sumptuous plate of Nasi Lemak and Mee Rebus, said Mr Sulaiman. On top of that, fresh ingredients are also essential. He has even honored his granny’s recipe by naming it ‘Granny’s Mee Rebus Special’!

After a couple of relocations, D’Authentic Nasi Lemak has finally rooted itself at their current location, Marine Parade Hawker Centre, for the past 15 years. Since the beginning till now, Mr Sulaiman has already chalk up more than 30 years in this business and has been selected to be a Master Hawker Trainer at the Hawker Master Trainer Pilot Programme. Along with him are business founders such as Boon Tong Kee just to name a few.

The rice was fragrant and tasty, but just a little moist for my liking. I prefer rice that are loosely separated. Chicken wing was crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside! On top of that, their fried kuning (fish) was so crispy till the bone was edible. However, their Ikan Bilis was a tad too hard as it was more of ‘cracking’ into chunks than into fine pieces. Chilli wasn’t the best, but was pretty decent in my opinion.

This is definitely another fine cuisine around within Marine Parade Hawker Centre!
