Curry & Curry: Nonya Style
First time trying out Nonya style curry fish head ($18/20)! Double thumbs up!!! Personally, I find it very similar to Assam Curry Fish Head style as it has that sour flavour which gives the curry a punch! Gotta thank my buddy for bringing us here as for such good cuisine.
Just an idea of good it is. Each of us actually had 2 bowls of rice on top of 4 side dishes shared by 3 persons. Each scoop of rice was always accompanied by a scoop of curry, we were literally drinking the curry gravy! Instead of having the fish head, we were served with 2 steaks of Red Snapper as they ran out of the tail portion which we wanted. Nevertheless, the meat was fresh as it’s firm and doesn’t have that fishy odour. Phew…
Apart from the fish curry, we had Sambal Kang Kong ($6) which was so-so as the sambal didn’t have any kick. Salted Prawns was super appetizing but came in pathetically medium sized ($9), Chicken Cutlet and Hainanese Pork Chop was decent. Our total bill was $47 which included 3 drinks.
The Curry was definitely the main highlight and I am so gonna bring my parents here!
