173) Craftsmen Specialty Coffee (Eastwood Centre): Cafe Bloom In The East Of Singapore
Brilliant move by Craftsmen Specialty Coffee for opening their second outlet in this part of the Singapore. This is probably the very first cafe at this area of Bedok/Tanah Merah where others are congregated at Bedok Central and Simpang Bedok. We have Fatcat Cafe that serves gastronomical waffles, perky coffee at Percolate, delectable dessert at D’Zerts and now Craftsmen with a decent menu for mains and gourmet coffee.
Unsure of the source of their beans, but it tasted very much similar to those brewed at their flagship outlet that serves Dutch Colony. Bold in flavour and medium body that packs a punch in every sip!
Tony and I had a tall and thick slice of Chocolate Cookies and Cream Cake ($8.9) for sharing while each had a latte ($5).
Not the best coffee and food pairing option as the flavour of the coffee was drowned quite a fair bit after I ate the cake. Thankfully I had a few sips before the indulgence.
I would prefer the ambiance here at Eastwood over Siglap despite some similarities. Both has that industrial and cozy feel, however Eastwood is more woody and has creative art pieces mounted on them. Other than that, coffee, cakes and pastries are just as good.
Check out the cool water dispenser!
I’ve gotta come back again for their mains to have a complete Craftsmen experience some time soon!
