Carvers and Co. : Pitstop For Roast, Grill & Coffee (Part 2)
Finally a revisit at Carvers and Co. after 1 year (Check out Part 1) and this time round for their mains! No change in address, however, a slight refurbishment of the interior to cater a larger crowd. Came here for a birthday treat with Zac on a Sunday evening. For a frequent patron like Zac, it was also his first try on their dinner menu! After looking through the menu, we went for the kill – House Special CARVERS PLATE for 2 ($70)!
It consist of the Unholy trinity of roast meats with crispy roast potatoes – Sausages, Roasted Pork and Chicken Thigh.
Roasted Pork are the western type or should I say roasted pork knuckle, so don’t expect it to taste like those in local roast stores. Don’t be fooled by its thick cut, as the crust is one of the best I’ve tasted (for western type) and tenderness was intact despite its ‘dry’ outlook.
Chicken thigh had a tinge of sweetness (honey grilled?), was enjoyable and filleting it was effortless.
Prior to our main was Sweet Potato chips for appetizer. Didn’t really fancy it, but Zac enjoyed it till the last very last piece though. Coffee was good as usual, however, not as good compared to the past. Perhaps the strong flavours from the food cut off certain taste spectrum as I had it halfway through dinner.
Glad that I finally give Carvers and Co. a try. Not my usual choice of dining due to price, nevertheless good food, money well spent and of course, solid fellowship time!
