Cantonese Roast Meat Stall At Alex Eating House (Bugis)
If you are driving along Beach Road, you will probably notice this prominent unit that’s usually packed with a crowd during lunch hours! Racked with glistening roasted ducks and char siew, Alex Eating House is probably the best Roast Meat stall around this area.
By the time we arrived at 1245pm, the eating house was already swarmed with people including groups who were standing around waiting for seats. Thankfully, I was able to snap up seats for two within 5 minutes of arrival.
Here is my standard order: Roasted Pork and Char Siew.

The Char Siew was typically lean with traces of fats in it and the Roast Pork had an excellent crust! Thickness of the meat was acceptable, however, thicker chunks are welcomed! Love how it’s done at Fatty Cheong, my place to go for Roast Meat!
We got a bowl of plump looking dumpling soup that had a sizable prawn stuffed in it. Great stuff and great price!
Despite the busyness that is happening in the eating house, yet everyone minded their own business and the stall workers operated efficiently to meet the needs of the huge lunch crowd. Simply love the charm of traditional and no-frills eating venues!
