Burp Kitchen & Bar: Late Night Tacos, Burgers & Drinks At Tanjong Katong
Fancy name with a fancy space, Burp Kitchen recently opened their new outlet at Tanjong Katong Road on 11 November 2016. This is a new addition to the stretch of food choices here and probably one that opens till midnight and has live screening of soccer games!
Burp Kitchen & Bar has an extensive food menu that comprise of Bar Grubs (appetizers) and Mains; Burgers, Pasta, Tacos & Quesadilla. As a bar/café, their beverage menu will definitely satisfy and meet all sorts of occasion for the night!
Following the food trend, Burp Kitchen & Bar has blended local flavours with the regular food choices served in a typical bar and café. Such are the Salted Egg Wings, Rendang flavoured chicken burger, Chicken Satay Tacos and Coffee BBQ Wings just to name a few.
So here we go, show casing of the food that we ordered!
Coffee BBQ Wings and Salted Egg Yolk Wings. The portions were halved instead of the regular 4 wings and 4 drumlets per serving. Crispy buffalo wings and juicy on the inside, we were off to a great start!
Coffee BBQ wings were awesome and it reminded me of the coffee pork ribs available in Tze Char stalls. Double thumbs up!
Thick and rich texture for the Salted Egg Yolk sauce, however, it lacked that “Oomph” in the aspect of flavour! Hopefully it will improve as time goes by.
Burgers were our mains; Crabby Patty and Burp’s Beef Burger.
Crabby Patty composed of a fully battered and fried soft-shell crab, dressed in salted egg yolk sauce and wrapped between Charcoal buns. The soft-shell crab was pleasant as it didn’t have a strong “fishy” taste (pardon my lack of vocab). If you love soft-shell crab or tasted one before, you will understand what I mean.
Burp’s Beef Burger; served with a thick juicy beef batty and wrapped with melted cheese, hint of sweetness from the caramelized onion and extra spice from the spicy mayo to tickle our buds! Simply, WOW!
I’ve gotta admit that the fries were amazing! Comprised of shoestring and thick cut fries doused with generous portion of Cajun spice was perfect for fries fanatics like me!
What’s a visit to a bar without beer, right?! The Kronenbourg Blanc was a perfect thirst quencher and kept consistent throughout the course of the meal (for 1.5-2 hours).
Lastly, the awesome playlist at the background complimented the chill and cozy vibes here at Burp Kitchen & Bar. Definitely worth the visit! You may consider the brunch menu available on sunday!
