Beef Ribeye (400g) bought from Market Foodie Place
It’s my first time visiting this Meats, Cheese and Speciality Grocery Store. It is located at Tiong Bahru and the building can be seen right after the exit for SGH from CTE.
I used to buy my meat from QB food centre which is located all the way at Jurong. Now that I’ve found this place, I think my refrigerator will be loaded with stacks of fresh and good quality meat!!!
Today, I bought 1kg of Beef Ribeye and had them cut into 3/4″ thickness and vacuum packed into 2 pieces per bag. From what I see, the meat seems more likely to be 1/2″ thick. As such, I managed to have 5 slices in total. All these cost me $32. I also bought a pack of bacon at $3 (250g). From my understanding, a typical restaurant (middle and upper class) serves 180-200g at $25-30 or more. Putting aside culinary skill and preparation time (I took 15mins to cook and 5-10mins to wash up), I guess it’s more valuable for the former. I know “value” is subjective, but let’s be realistic.
