Barossa: Beef Buffet
Found this irresistible deal on Voucherlicious that allowed me to save tons and yet enjoy a luxurious meal at a steal. This time round, Barossa was having their Australian Beef buffet promotion (with a bottle of wine or soft drinks) at only $30, usual price is $45.90++. On top of that, Barossa has 2 dining spots, Esplanade and Holland Village. Thinking that Esplanade can boast a view of Marina Bay Sands while we enjoy alfresco dining, response was overwhelming, thus Holland Village it is. Thankfully, we were given the outdoor seats as I enjoy that outdoor and casual feeling.
On our arrival, we were ushered to our seats and served by a courteous waitress. A good start before the real deal. As it was a buffet, I was expecting to approach the meat station personally to get my food, just like a typical buffet.
However, there was a menu which displayed 5 types of Beef (Wagyu D Rump, Australian Prime Rib, Australian Ribeye, Roast Beef and Braised Beef Cheek), some sides and sauces. So simply make an order and wait to be served.
For our first helping, we ordered the entire menu.
While waiting, basked in the vibrant atmosphere and people watching was rather therapeutic. Simply in love with such atmosphere. Before we knew it, the glorious food was served on a wooden platter and the feast began!
After trying out all 5 types of beef, needless to say the Wagyu was the best! It was the most tender among the rest, followed by Ribeye, then Prime Rib, Cheeks and Roast Beef.
Having said that, all of them were actually nicely done. Despite it being medium-well, yet meat were still juicy, thus the overall eating experience wasn’t dampened.
Along side with the main were some sides such as the Barossa Salad, Creamed Spinach, Sauteed Mushroom, Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Tomato with Cheese. I particularly enjoyed the Creamed Spinach. I guess it can’t go wrong for me as long as anything is cheesy and creamy, just maybe.
After our tasting portion, the real feasting really began! We ordered 6 slabs of Wagyu D Rump together with two more portions of spinach. While waiting for them to arrive, we were already salivating even by looking at others being served with their beef. To cut short story, our beef came, we ate them and lived happily ever after!
In total, we ate approximately 2.2kg of pure beef (each approx. 200g) and got to taste other sides as well. I have to say that based on the types and availability of their beef, this is THE BEST meat buffet that I’ve eaten so far in comparison to places like Brazilian Churrasco ($40-50), Carnivore ($40-50) and other simpler version of such buffet.
On top of buffet, Barossa do serve other mains, sides and snacks and coupled with other promotions too.
