Authentic Mun Chee Kee
KING Of Pig Organ Soup
Frankly, I am never a fan of Pig Organ Soup, but strangely a fan of intestines etc when I am eating Kway Chap. I guess because the organs are braised, therefore it covers the smell of pork and gives it a nice soy sauce flavour.
Nevertheless, being a foodie I couldn’t resist myself when my friend, an Indian friend (Not even Chin-dian), was recommending this stall to me! He claimed that it is the best Pig Organ Soup in Singapore and I must try it! I guess I’ve got nothing to lose, sure, why not?
It is located along Jalan Besar Road and will be on your right hand side with this striking red sign board. It seemed to me that they have been around for at least 40 years based on the posters and ornaments in the shop. At the same time, they have a couple of outlets around Singapore too.
We ordered the Famous Pig Organ Soup ($4), Braised Trotter ($6) and Omelet. Frankly, I’ve got no idea what to expect for the Pig Organ Soup, but it got me wanting more of it! The braised pork was nice too! Tender meat, fats and skin together with the nicely braised gravy, what else can I ask for?
Price was affordable and food was good! Love such old school venue, with honest price and good tasting food!
