166) Artease: Uniquely Singaporean Cafe (Serangoon Central) – CLOSED
Started by a random thought all the way back in 2009 by founders Ang Chin Leng and Leslie Ang during their cafe session in Taipei, that’s how Artease was conceived, but mentally. Coming back to Singapore, the ‘seed’ was sown and with continual ‘nurturing’ came ‘labor’ time, Artease was born.
Artease cafe was started with a goal in mind and that’s to create a uniquely Singaporean cafe suitable for all ages and walks of life.
Although heavily themed on tea, their menu offers pastry ($3-6), sarnies ($2.8-5.8), ice blends ($5.5-7) and coffee ($4.3-7) as well.
We visited the outlet in Serangoon, which was just a few blocks away from NEX and the transport interchange. Surrounded by tall glass walls, it was perfect for people and car watching while relaxing in our ‘private’ space.
We had a latte each ($5) and shared a Salted Caramel Brownie ($4).
Coffee resembled flavours of Italian roast. Generally, nothing to ‘wow’ about during my visit to Artease, but it was a blissful lepak session before we headed off for our individual agenda.
