Al-Ameen Eating House
(Thai Muslim Cuisine)
My first introduction to this outlet was by my Muslim teammates during our full-time training stint at the Singapore Sports School back in 2013. With origins from Bukit Timah, Al-Ameen has been around for substantial number of years and have branched out to 4 other locations (including this) since then. Their food theme revolves around specializing in Muslim Thai Cuisine, provides casual dining and catering services too.
This time round, I was with my fellow coaches from the IAAF coaching course.
Al-Ameen serves up a wide range of food. They have Muslin Tze Char, popular mains such as Pattaya Fried Rice, Prata, Tandoori Chicken and Naan. Basically they have Indian cuisines and Thai Muslim style food served here!
Here are our orders:
This was my order. I love it as there was the Wok-Hei flavour. Wok-hei is the taste and essence imparted by a hot wok on food during stir-frying.
This is probably the weirdest and most ‘unique’ dish I’ve ever tasted. It was my friend’s order and I was curious enough to try it out. One scoop of the gravy/soup was all it took to serve as a reminder to NOT order this! It tasted weird and I couldn’t put my finger on any flavour.
Very chill venue and it’s tucked at a corner of the residential area, therefore traffic noise level was minimal. Being 24 hours, you can say bye-bye to hunger pangs!
