1 Tyrwhitt Bistro.Bar.Cafe: Western & Italian Fusion Bistro At Jalan Besar
Riding on the street name, 1 Tyrwhitt Bistro Bar Cafe is a newly established eatery themed with remnants of the past and modern lines. Prior to their establishment was the affordable and authentic Northern Thai eatery which is now at Peace Centre after multiple relocation. As though there aren’t already enough Cafes/Bistro/Eateries in this region, I wonder what attracts continual F&B investment into this region.
With land scarcity and sky-rocket rental, luxury of a spacious unit with high ceiling is hard to come by, but that’s not the case here. This was the first attribute that caught my attention during my visit at 1 Tyrwhitt Bistro.
Good news to the residents and working crowd here as lunch promotion is available. Double happiness for alcoholics too as Happy hour (1 for 1) starts from opening till 9pm. You may drink till you drop but just remember not to drink and drive! Artisan coffee is available as well.
I got myself a Beef Burger ($13.8) while others ordered Truffle Cream Sauce Pasta ($19.8), Cabonara Bacon ($16.8), Seafood Marinara ($17.8) and Pork Chop ($16.8) as main with the Truffle Egg Pizza ($23.8) for sharing.
Burger was sizable, but I wasn’t impressed with the burger patty. Couldn’t taste any meat flavour nor texture, but only heavily minced meat packed with loads of tenderizer. Thumbs down!
The chef was generous with the truffle oil for the Truffle Cream Sauce Pasta however it was a tad too salty for my preference. I guess my threshold for saltiness has lowered since my conscious effort of monitoring my salt intake.
The Pork Chop was amazeballs! Thick cut and cleared from porky smell. The crisp layer gave a nice texture and kept the moisture within the meat, thus explains its tenderness and juiciness!
Rounding up our meal with some Italian dessert: Panna Cotta ($8.8) and Tiramisu ($8.8). Both were satisfying.
Panna Cotta – Silky smooth, moderately sweetened and adorned with strawberry syrup.
Tiramisu – Better than their neighbour, Tiramisu Hero. I like the fact that the cake wasn’t too ‘soaked’ and had evident taste of alcohol and coffee.
Definitely a great place to chill after work!
